Public transport
Depending on where you are going to, you can either get there by car, bicycle, public transport, or by aeroplane.
There are several public transport opportunities during summer season, and in Briksdalen, Fjærland and Jostedalen, there are unique offers of “glacier busses”.

Accommodation
There are many accommodation options in the area around the national park, and most of them have spectacular surroundings in common.
You can stay at camping sites or tourist hotels that meet every taste and budget at many locations around the glacier. Visit the destination companies or tourist information offices for a full overview of the accommodation options.
DNT and local cabins
Should you prefer hiking to your accommodation, there are cabins that require hiking from 0 to more than 1800 vertical meters. How about waking up at the new and uniquely designed Tungestølen Tourist Cabin, or on top of Mt. Skåla and the Skålabu Cabin, where you can enjoy the sunrise at 1850 meters above sea level?
The Norwegian Trekking Association owns some of the cabins listed here, and local branches of the association own others. Please note that you may have to book your stay in advance and get hold of a key to some of DNT’s cabins. The association has staffed, self-service and no-service cabins.
